General
- MCServerScout (the "site") is a free directory of Minecraft servers operated by the MCServerScout team. By using the site you accept these terms.
- The site isn't an official Minecraft product and isn't approved by or associated with Mojang or Microsoft.
- All features (browsing, voting, reviews and adding servers) are available without an account.
- We provide the site as it is. We do our best to keep it running and the data accurate, but we can't guarantee that it will always be available or error-free.
- We don't run the listed servers and aren't responsible for what happens on them. Join them at your own discretion and follow their rules.
Adding servers
- Anyone can add a Minecraft: Java Edition server. You don't have to be its owner.
- A server must be online and reachable on a public address when it's added. Each server can be listed once; another domain pointing to the same IP counts as the same server.
- Server data (status, version, MOTD, icon, player count, whether a premium account is required) is collected automatically through regular status pings, made directly or, when a direct check fails, through a public status service. To find out whether a server requires a premium account, we occasionally start a login with a random nickname and disconnect right away.
- Game modes and descriptions are assigned automatically and may be corrected by us.
- A server that stays offline with no players for 30 days is removed automatically.
- We may refuse or remove a server whose name, MOTD or website contains illegal, offensive or sexual content, malware or phishing, advertising for other server lists or hosts without our permission, or that is used to manipulate the ranking.
- Server owners can ask for their server to be removed or for data to be corrected by contacting us.
Votes and ranking
- Each person can vote for a given server once a day, and each server can receive a limited number of votes per day.
- The ranking is based on online status, votes and the number of players. It can't be bought.
- Using bots, scripts, VPNs or proxies to cast votes, or offering rewards that require voting from several connections, is vote manipulation. We may remove such votes and the server's listing.
- Rewarding players for a single honest vote through the vote API is allowed.
Reviews and moderation
Reviews are published under the signature you choose and checked by an automated moderation system before they appear. Honest criticism, politely expressed, is as welcome as praise. We remove or mask reviews that contain:
- insults, hate speech or discrimination;
- other people's personal data, such as emails, phone numbers or addresses;
- spam, ads, links or text copied between servers;
- false claims meant to harm a server, or impersonation of its staff or of our team;
- links to malware, phishing, pirated software or illegal content;
- content that infringes someone else's rights.
You can write one review per server and up to five reviews a day. To remove your own review, email us with the server, the signature and part of the text.
Breaking the rules
We start with the mildest measure that solves the problem:
- masking the part of a review that breaks the rules;
- removing a review, vote or server;
- blocking access from a network, for mass spam, attacks on the site or repeated serious violations.
Complaints and appeals
If you think the site isn't working as it should, or a moderation decision was wrong, write to [email protected]. Describe the issue and include the server address. We reply within 30 days. If we agree with an appeal, we reverse the decision and restore the content.
Changes
We may update these terms. The current version is always on this page, with the date of the last change at the top. Personal data is covered by the privacy policy.
