Questions about Modded servers
How do I join a modded Minecraft server?
You need the same mods and Minecraft version as the server. The easiest way is to install the server modpack through a launcher such as CurseForge, Modrinth or Prism Launcher; servers usually name the pack and its version.
What are Pixelmon and Cobblemon?
Both are mods that add Pokemon-style creatures to Minecraft. You catch them, train them and battle in turn-based fights. Pixelmon runs on Forge, Cobblemon on Fabric and NeoForge.
Can I join a modded server from Bedrock Edition?
No. Forge, NeoForge and Fabric mods work only in Minecraft Java Edition, so modded servers require the Java client with the modpack installed.
What is the difference between mods and plugins?
Plugins run only on the server and require nothing from players. Mods also change the client (new blocks, mobs and interfaces), so every player must install them.
