Prison Minecraft servers

Prison is an economy mode built around mining your way up a ladder of ranks. You start as an inmate in the lowest cell block with access to a basic mine, collect blocks, sell them for money and spend that money to rank up, usually from A to Z. Each rank opens a richer mine, and after the final rank many servers let you prestige, resetting your progress in exchange for permanent bonuses. Pickaxe upgrades and custom enchantments such as faster mining or area breaking keep the climb moving.

Minecraft Prison servers fit players who enjoy steady, measurable progress and number-goes-up gameplay. It is easy to play in a relaxed way, mining while chatting, yet there is plenty of depth in optimising income, trading and planning upgrades. Most servers also include plots or cells to decorate, gangs to join and a PvP area for those who want risk, so the mode can be peaceful or competitive depending on how you play.

Comparing Prison servers

Prison servers can look alike at first glance, but they differ a lot in pacing and fairness. A good one keeps each rank achievable through play and makes prestige worth the reset.

• Rank-up costs that grow at a reasonable pace rather than forcing endless grinding.
• Pickaxe enchantments and upgrades that are earned in game, not mainly sold in the store.
• Auto-sell or backpack features that cut down on tedious inventory management.
• Regular resets or new seasons that keep the economy from inflating.

A few starting tips

Put early money into your pickaxe before anything cosmetic, since mining speed drives everything else. Check sell prices between mines, and skip the PvP mine until losing your items would not set you back much.
